Adult Music Opportunities
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir meets for rehearsal in the Music Ministries Room (#117) from 6:45-8:00 Wednesday evenings and participate in the 10:50 Worship Services throughout the year, except for the month of July. The choir is open to adults and accomplished high school students. New members are always welcome - there is no audition process.
There are always opportunities for fun and fellowship that include a choral retreat, a caroling outreach program, and an annual performance at a Ranger's Baseball Game, as well as regular social and holiday gatherings. Come make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Faith Singers
The Faith Singers choir is the newest ensemble here at First United Methodist Church. This group is open to adults and accomplished high school students that wish to sing in the 8:30 Sunday morning worship service. This service is structured in a "blended" format especially with the use of The Faith We Sing, the United Methodist Hymnal Supplement. The rehearsals for this ensemble meet in the Music Ministries Room (#117) at 8:00 on Sunday mornings.
Adult Handbells
The Joyful Noise Handbell Choir is made up of high school students and adults. It meets regularly and plays in the worship services on special occasions. This group rehearses on Sunday mornings at 8:30-9:30 in the Handbell Room (#114).
Special Opportunities
Soloists
Vocal and Instrumental soloists are sought for worship and special occasions. You are encouraged to make your availability known to the Director of Music.
Audio Technicians
The sanctuary sound system requires an on-site technician each Sunday. This person adjusts volume levels for the congregation and helps in recording the service for thos unable to attend. Some technical audio expertise is encouraged. Please let the Director of Music know if you are interested in helping serve in this capacity.
